Power and Influence

Do you realize the power we have in our hands with the use of technology? Never before in history have individuals been able to instantly contact millions of other individuals. With famous and influential people, we can immediately log on to social media, tag them and have them see our messages. We can direct message millions more. We can make videos that go viral.

We are more connected than ever before. It’s staggering and exciting. If one of your goals in life is to make a positive impact on the world and be influential, the prospect is wide open and readily available. The challenge becomes: how are you going to stand out from the crowd so that your message gets noticed? How are you going to posture yourself so that you can be most impactful? This is the modern dilemma and as I sit here, I’m begging the Universe to download a great blog post so that my message will stand out. How may this be of value to the reader and inspire transformation of the feminine paradigm which is my goal? My hope is that this post serves as a reminder or wake up call to you, that each and every one of us has the power and the means, especially now with the internet, to make a contribution to our world in a significant way.

With your new technological superpower, I ask you dear reader to join me in helping shift the feminine paradigm. Stick up for me on Instagram! (I commented and posted about the menstrual bloody London Marathon runner and got called a “feminazi.”) Share my posts on Facebook. Tweet about our red tents on Twitter. Pin items from the Moondays store on Pintrest. Write about Moondays in your blog posts. And whatever you’re doing to help empower women, I will do likewise for you. Together, we will create the tipping point to help heal the world with divine feminine energy.

How Ready Am I?

Susan's call to turn inward and discover a message that is personally resonant is enticing. Her nudge to share it with the world is a little more of a stretch, especially with regards to a woman's moon cycle.

By bringing into focus the power associated with a woman's moon cycle and coupling it with the provocative question, "How are you going to stand out from the crowd?" Susan illuminates a simple truth, which is that each and every woman has the responsibility and power to own the voice of the most feminine aspect of her nature.

The question brought to mind the issue of discernment. I had to ask myself, How ready am I to be active? Honestly, I like the idea of the red tent. I like talking and sharing stories with other women. I like the idea of doing this as part of honoring the feminine cycle of menstruation.

Am I ready to actively make a stand and put all of that out into the world? Surprisingly, my answer is "No".

The reality is, I like the idea of being IN the tent. I like the privacy. I cherish it. Even though I see myself as a woman who is open and ready to discuss all, Susan brought my attention to a personal boundary. I like the mysterious aspect of the feminine. I like keeping some aspects of being a woman to myself, or sharing it with selective friends.

Does this make me old fashion? I'm not sure. Maybe my attitude is a result of being a product of the hippie generation where we "let it all hang out". Now, I enjoy privacy. However, for the sake of women, do I have to rethink my position? I don't really know.

I do know I am grateful for the question. I plan to sit with it for awhile.

What I do know is that Susan's intent to raise awareness of the value of womanhood by challenging actions that use a woman's sacred time of the month, through language, jokes etc, against her is extremely important; especially in an age where domestic violence is on the rise and certain music genres degrade women.
Most of all, I appreciate that Susan walks the walk she talks. She willingly stands apart from the crowd and shares her message. Through her activism, this site, she inspires me to think.
I am curious about what you think? What has her question prompted in you? Do you think I am old fashioned?
